Clearwater Threshers Pitchers Ricardo Pinto and Alberto Tirado Key To the 7-0 Win Over Lakeland

Twenty year-old pitcher Alberto Tirado acquired in the Ben Revere deal with the Toronto Blue Jays made his debut with the Clearwater Thresher last night and was impressive in pitching scoreless seventh and eight innings.

The 20-year old Dominican relied on a breaking pitch that sat around 80 for two of his strikeouts  and a fast ball that ranged from 92-96 mph for his other strikeout in the 7-0 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers at Bright House.

Starter Ricardo Pinto was equally impressive over the first six innings striking out six, giving up no runs or walks.  Watch four of Pinto’s strikeouts HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Backup infielder Derek “Soup” Campbell homered and seldom used third catcher Wilson Garcia went 3 for 4 as the DH in the game to lead the offense in the win.
