Phillies catching prospect Logan Moore has been on fire for first place Licey in the Dominican Winter League. He has almost single handedly won the last two games for them to keep them in first place with three weeks to go in the DWL regular season.
Sunday night Moore drove in the winning run on a fielder choice ground ball in the bottom tenth for the 3-2 win over the Aguilas.
Last night it was four RBIs on two doubles for the 6-2 win over Estrellas.
Moore has not been catching much in the DWL but got the start in the last two Licey wins and it has paid dividends with his five RBIs including the game winners.
Known for his strong, accurate arm, it is now his bat that is doing the talking. He threw out an amazing 60% of base stealers with Reading and 47% with Lehigh Valley in 2015. Moore broke out with the bat in 2015 for Lehigh Valley hitting .276 in 134 at bats after his call-up from Reading.
The 25-year old Moore just finished up his fifth season in the Phillies minor league system and will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft on December 10th.
If a MLB team for $50,000 needs a left handed hitting catcher who hit .276 at AAA, threw out over 50% percent of base stealing attempts in 2015 and has just driven five runs in his last two games for the first place team in the DWL, Logan Moore might just be their man!
