Rhys Hoskins hit his 23rd homer of the season to tie Ryan Howard for the Phillies organization’s top individual 2015 home run total.
The three run blast was Hoskins second homer in two days, a long drive to center Saturday (watch HERE) to go along with a blast to left on Friday night (watch HERE). He now has hit five long ball so far in 26 games for the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League.
Rhys has taken a liking to Cooper Stadium in Adelaide, South Australia where the Adelaide Bite play their ABL games. In the first four games of the five game series there he has gone 6 for 16 to raise his average to .291 for the ABL season to date.
Hoskins figures to be high on the list as a Phillies first base prospect to team with Miguel Franco at third to give them badly need right handed hitting power in future lineups. So far in 2015 he has hit over .300 with an OPS over .900 with 23 homers and 108 RBIs in 163 games with Lakewood, Clearwater and now in the ABL in 2015.
