Milner and Hoskins Continue to Play Well in Offseason Ball

For his second straight appearance LOOGY Hoby Milner was brought in Saturday night to turn two switch hitters around and he retired each of them .

Last night in Puerto Rico League playoff action he struck out a lefthanded bat in between the two switch hitters of the three batters he faced.

Hoby has yet to give up a run against left-handed bats in the PWL, pitching the equivalent of 5.1 innings against them giving up only two hits.

Down Under this weekend, Rhys Hoskins had a good five-game series coming off  an injury from a HBP, going 7 for 19 with 3 RBI’s.  With three weeks still remaining in the ABL season Hoskins’ Sydney Blue Sox team is tied for the last playoff spot.

Consistency has been his trademark this season hitting over .300 and with an over .900 OPS in both the Sally and Florida State Leagues.  Currently, he is hitting .307 in Australia with an .882 OPS.

Also Hoskins has hit at least five homers in each of the three leagues in which he has played in 2015.  Watch HERE, HERE and HERE for a Hoskins long ball in the Sally, FSL and ABL.  He went deep 23 times in the 2015 season to lead all Phillies minor league players.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here:
