Lakewood’s Jose Taveras Pitches a 15 Strikeout Game To Remember

Jose Taveras

Lakewood’s Jose Taveras pitched his best game yet in his career in setting an all-time Lakewood record of 15 strikeouts over eight innings in Greenville, South Carolina.

This season, we first watched Jose strikeout the side in an inning of work to open the Phillies minor league spring training back in early March against the Canadian National Junior team.  Read HERE.

Then, he was named the South Atlantic Pitcher of the Week for May 15th.  Read HERE.

But he hit a down period several weeks before the SAL All-Star Game in June.  Now he is back better than ever.  He allowed only two hits and did not walk a batter in his most recent outing. Watch last strikeout on Saturday night HERE.

Baseball Betsy and I congratulate Jose on an outing to never forget for the BlueClaws.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here: https://baseballross.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/how-i-got-started-in-baseball/
