The “long ball” is back and Rhys Hoskins and Dylan Cozens are providing the entertainment for fans of the Reading Fightin Phils.
Last night was no exception in Reading 14-1 beating of Erie. Cozens went yard in the first inning and Hoskins did the same in the fourth inning. Each of them now are tied with 21 home runs for the season to lead all of minor league baseball. Watch the videos HERE and HERE.
They only trail in all of baseball, the Orioles, Mark Tumbo (23), the White Sox, Todd Frazier (22) and the Reds, Adam Duvall (22).
But perhaps more importantly the “Bash brothers” as Mike Ventola the voice of the Fightins calls them, each has 62 RBIs. More RBIs than do either Trumbo, Frazier or Duvall.
They have been instrumental in Reading’s 56-23 record for a .704 winning percent. The best record in baseball. They are the only team in the major or minor leagues with a record over .700 ahead of the Chicago Cubs, 51-26, .662 winning percent.
Reading opens a four game series tonight at home against the Harrisburg Senators. “Let the Long Balls fly”. We will be watching down here in Florida on must see MiLB- TV.
