Reading’s Rhys Hoskins Is Mr. June

Those of us who live and die baseball know that Derek Jeter is Mr. November and Reggie Jackson is Mr. October.  Now we have Mr. June in Reading Fighting Phils first baseman Rhys Hoskins.

Last night Hoskins finished up an amazing month of June.  In his last at bat for the month he hit a grand slam to put the final touches to a 13-5 win over the Harrisburg Senators.

For the month of June he went 39 for 111 with 13 home runs and 33 RBIs and slashed at an amazing .351/.415/.784 for a 1.198 OPS.

Hoskins helped power Reading to the best record in baseball overall and 23-5 in June.

Along with his “bash brother” Dylan Cozens who hit a three-run homer , Hoskins combined with him to drive in 8 of the 13 runs last night, the margin of victory.

They each lead all of minor league baseball with 22 homers in addition to having 66 RBIs for the season. Watch Cozens homer, HERE and Hoskins homer, HERE.

If they remain in Reading for the rest of the season they have 62 games remaining and would be on pace to hit around 40 homers for the season. Nothing these two guys do would surprised me.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here:
