Phillies Farmhand Jiandido Tromp Is Quietly Having A Strong Season

Recent articles have listed the potential Phillies Rule Five eligible players, read HERE.   One name missing from the articles has been outfielder Jiandido Tromp who is now in his fifth season in the Phillies organization.

Watching an otherwise uninteresting team, dominated night after night by head scratching coaching moves, the  Clearwater Threshers team has been tough to watch.  But Tromp has been a rare reason to go to the games.  Read HERE

Jiandido has all five tools.  He has shown he can hit, hit with power, run, throw and field.  He has hit 17 homers between Clearwater and Lakewood so far this season.  Watch HERE, HERE and HERE.

Tromp is playing at baseball age 22 and if he is still with the Phillies he has the potential to hit 30 homers in Reading next season.

Remember, Rhys Hoskins hit only 18 homers last season between Lakewood and Clearwater including one in the playoffs and is now stuck at Reading at baseball age 23 and has 35 long balls this season at AA.

Tromp has come into his own.  In his last ten games he is hitting .333 and in his last three games he has gone 6 for 11 since being moved into to the leadoff spot.  It’s rewarding when we see Threshers players actually develop as the season progresses.
