Phillies Prospect Nick Fanti Named to Team Italy in World Baseball Classic

Congratulation to 20-year-old Phillies left handed pitching prospect Nick Fanti who has been named to Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic.  Read HERE.

Team Italy opens play in the WBC on March 9th against the home team in Mexico in Pool D which also includes Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

All total ten Phillies will take part in the WBC. Read HERE.

Fanti was a 31st round draft pick in 2015.

He pitched brilliantly this season in the Gulf Coast League going 8-0 including pitching 5.1 inning of shutout baseball in the Finals to pick up the only win against the eventual GCL playoff champion, the GCL Cards.

Fanti looks to join the Lakewood starting rotation this season.
