Two Phillies Farm Teams Put On a Great Show In The 2018 Final Minor League Spring Training Game

The 2018 minor league season will begin on Thursday night but we saw an interesting final preseason game featuring two Phillies farm teams. In the game the Clearwater Threshers bested the Lakewood BlueClaws, 4-3, in ten innings at Spectrum Field in Clearwater.

Kevin Markham crosses the plate on his game winning, walk off, inside the park home run

Kevin Markham watches the ball as it goes to far left for an inside the park home run.

It took everything the Threshers had to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the bottom of the ninth with two runs to tie it up and then an inside-the-park home run by Kevin Markham down the the left field line with two outs in the bottom of the tenth for the walk-off win.  Watch Markham’s game winner HERE.

The other big bat in the Threshers lineup belong to right fielder Jose Pujols.  He had doubled off the right field wall earlier in the game and homered in the bottom of the eight for the first Threshers run.  Watch his double HERE  and home run HERE.

What a great way to end the minor league spring training season for Clearwater with the bats of Pujols and Markham doing the damage.

The Threshers open the Florida State League season against the Dunedin Blue Jays Thursday night at Spectrum Field at 7:pm and Lakewood opens the South Atlantic League season on Thursday night by traveling to Kannapolis, North Carolina.
