Pitchers Edgar Garcia and Ramon Russo Showed Monday Night the Depth Of Phillies Minor League Pitching

In a little more than a month Seranthony Dominguez jumped from AA to start the season to AAA and now is a key part the a Phillies major league bullpen.

No mind, Monday night Seranthony’s replacement at Reading picked up his third save in three opportunities. Edgar Garcia retired the side in order in the ninth inning to preserve the Reading win. He has a 0.44 ERA and is averaging better than a strikeout an inning for the season.

On Saturday night in Clearwater we watched in person Bailey Falter pitch 6.2 inning and the only run he gave up was unearned while striking out 11.  He went to 4-0 on the season and has one of the lowest ERA and WHIP in Advanced A.

Monday night we watched on MiLB-TV Lakewood’s Ramon Rosso also strikeout 11 but in only six innings. He was charged with only an unearned run, as well.  He is second in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP of all pitchers in A ball.

It’s hard to believe that one organization has such pitching depth in its minor league system. It bodes well for the future of Phillies baseball.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here: https://baseballross.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/how-i-got-started-in-baseball/
