Phillies Pitching Prospect Adonis Medina Selected For the 2018 MLB Futures Game To Replace Enyel De Los Santos

Adonis Medina

The Phillies No. 2 MLB Pipeline prospect Adonis Medina has been selected to replace Enyel De Los Santos to represent the Phillies in the MLB Futures game.   De Los Santos won in his major league debut as an emergency starter for the Phillies on Wednesday and has since been returned to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

The game will take place Sunday at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. at 4:00 ET and can be viewed on the MLB Network.  Medina, a native of the Domincan Republic, will pitch for the Interational team against the USA team.

Medina had won seven games in his last 11 starts without a loss (4 no decisions) for the Clearwater Threshers from April 25th to July 2 only to see the streak end on Monday night in a loss to the Dunedin Blue Jays.

We have included a cross-section of  Medina’s strikeouts from his last two starts against the Lakeland Flying Tigers and the Blue Jays, watch HERE and HERE.

We want to take this opportunity to congratulate Adonis for his selection to the 2018 MLB Futures Game.

Assume Phillies did not want DLS pitching on Sunday in DC, with only three days, rest since he pitched in NY on Wednesday vs the Mets.
