Watch One Home Run Video From Each of The Six Clearwater Threshers Players Who Have Gone Deep This Week.

The Florida State League is not known for home runs.  The ball just does not carry very well here.  Many times cross winds knock down any long drives.  In 2015, the  Clearwater Threshers Andrew Pullin tied for the FSL season lead in homers with 14 in 123 games. Dylan Cozens hit only five in 96 games and Rhys Hoskins hit only 8 in 67 regular season games in 2015..

In the past six games, except for one, the ball has been flying out of the park for the Threshers.   They have won five of the six games by hitting a total six home runs in the wins.  They hit two more homers in the only loss. Of the eight homers, three have been three-run homers and the other a grand slam.  Of the 32 Threshers runs scored during this time, 19 have come off of home run balls.

Jose Pujols homers

Last night Jose Pujols hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eight inning which was all the  Threshers needed for 4-2 win over the Florida Fire Frogs. Mickey Moniak and Pujols have hit two homers each in the last six games.

In addition to Pujols and Moniak, the other players who have homered in the last six games have been Henri Lartigue, Luke Williams, Edgar Cabral and Kyle Martin.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here: https://baseballross.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/how-i-got-started-in-baseball/
