Moniak, Lartigue and Markham Power The Threshers to a 6-1 Win Over Bradenton.

Back in 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers led the league in runs and home runs and earned the nickname Harvey’s Wallbangers, after Manager Harvey Kuenn. Last night, Mickey Moniak was an actual “wall banger” as he hit a double and triple off the left field wall at Spectrum Field to lead the Clearwater Threshers to a 6-1 victory over the Bradenton Marauders.

Mickey Moniak

Moniak did his damage early. After he doubled in the first inning, watch HERE moving Achimedes Gamboa to third. Next up, Henry Lartigue drove them home on a line drive base hit to right, watch HERE.

Moniak continue his hot hitting in the third when he tripled off the left-center field wall to drive in a run. The ball rolled to the 401 ft. sign in center as Mickey headed to third. Watch HERE for a 3-0 lead.

Kevin Markham gave the Threshers a 4-0 lead in the fourth with a double to drive in Luke Williams to make the score 4-0. Watch HERE.

Henri Lartigue

Lartigue was not done. He drove in his third run of the game in the seventh inning to make the final score 6-1.

Ramon Russo, who came on in relief in the fifth inning, pitched four strong innings allowing the lone Bradenton run to extend his record to 5-1 on the season.  Jonathan Hennigan pitched a strong ninth inning striking out two. Watch HERE.
