Dream Match-Up: Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. vs Threshers Spencer Howard In FSL Lid-lifter

Tonight is a dream opening night matchup in the Florida State League. Its’s Vladimir Guerrero of the Dunedin Blue Jays, 2018 top minor league prospect in baseball vs the best  pitcher from last season’s minor league playoffs, Clearwater’s Spencer Howard.

Howard pitched a nine-inning no-hitter for Lakewood in the South Atlantic League Playoffs. He would go on and pitch 14 inning in the playoffs allowing one run, three hits, walking one and striking out 15 in two post season starts. He is rated as the 5th best Phillies prospect by MLB Prospect Watch.

Guerrero Jr. was everyone’s Number One prospect in the minor league baseball last season.  All he did was hit .381 with 20 homers and a 1.073 OPS  in 357 at bats at four different minor league levels in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.  He will be rehabbing with Dunedin and is expected to make his major league debut at third base soon this season.
