With Simon Muzziotti and Alec Bohm batting one, two in the Clearwater Threshers lineup, you know runs will be scored. This was the case last night in the 12-4 pounding of the Threshers by the Charlotte Stone Crabs at Spectrum Field.
They both were the reasons that the Threshers were able to put their four runs on board. Muzziotti went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and drove in a run. Bohm hit back to back doubles in the third and fifth innings to drive-in three runs in the game. He drove-in Muzziotti both times.
Watch Muzziotti and Bohm show how they combined to put the only four Threshers runs on scoreboard, HERE.
Without Muzzioitti and Bohm in the lineup, it would have been a longer night than it already was. Starter Julian Garcia was roughed-up for nine runs, five earned, in 5.2 innings. He gave up two of the hardest hit two-run home runs we have seen all season in the second and third innings. That was the was the ball game right there as the Stone Crabs bullpen shutout the Threshers the rest of the way. Muzziotti and Bohm were able to bring back the Threshers to within four runs at 8-4 after five innings but that was as close as they would come.
The 12-4 loss slowed the Threshers dash for for first place in the FSL Northern division. Still, watching Muzziotti and Bohm play last night well was worth of the price of admission.
