Grenny Cumana Comes Up Clutch In a Big Game AGAIN, This Time For Lehigh Valley

Grenny Cumana keeps coming up big when it counts. In the 2018 Florida State League playoffs, he hit the winning home run in the only game the Clearwater Threshers would win. Last night for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, he hit a two-run, walk-off double to put the Iron Pigs back into first place.

Grenny Cumana hits the game winning home run

In last year’s first Threshers playoff game, Grenny would throw out a runner at the plate in the top of the eight inning to keep the score tied at 6-6. Then, he hit the home run in the bottom half of the inning which resulted in a 7-6 win over the Daytona Tortugas. Watch HERE.

Last night, the IronPigs came from behind with three runs in the ninth to take over first place by defeating the Syracuse Mets, 6-5. Cumana was up with one out, the bases loaded and the IronPigs trailing 5-4. He lined the first pitch over the right fielder’s head for the 6-5 walk off win. Watch HERE.

Cumana has played all over the place in the infield and now in the outfield this season and last season in the Phillies minor league system. He showed us last year for the Threshers, he has one of the most accurate arms in left field of anyone I have ever seen. Last night, he was in centerfield for the IronPigs. At both levels, Grenny has shown us he is one of the best clutch, big game hitters in close and late games, no matter where he plays. Let’s hope he gets to see more action wherever he plays this season!
