Nothing beats a couple of RBI hits from two Phillies Prospects to open up the 2021 minor league baseball season even before the new year begins.
Reports on Monday from Adelaide, South Australia tell us that outfielder Cornelius Randolph and infielder Luke Williams opened the 2021 the Australian Baseball League preseason with RBI hits. Read HERE.
Both of them played for Reading back in 2019 before Covid 19 shutdown minor league baseball. As Williams said, “it’s been a little while since we played organized baseball so it was really fun.”
The Adelaide Giants of the ABL will open the season January 5th loaded with Phillies prospects. Some 11 players on the Giants roster are Phillies minor league players including two Australian natives and a New Zealander. Read HERE.
One of the players on the Giants roster we will be following closely is infielder Kendall Simmons. In 2019 with Williamsport, he hit 10 homers in a 22 game stretch. His tremendous power is more than impressive. HERE
We will also be keeping a eye out for big Aussie, left-handed, clutch hitting, first baseman, Rixon Wingrove. He led the Gulf Coast League for the Phillies GCL team in RBIs in 2019 and had three walk off RBIs in the ABL last season. Read HERE.
