Big Rixon Wingrove Is Back, Hits 416 ft. Home Run

It’s not quite all or nothing from Rixon Wingrove but it is trending in that direction. His averaged dropped to under .230 going into the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader.

Rix broke out of his slump in the second game to get his average back to .250 with a sacrifice fly RBI, a base hit and a 416 ft. monster home run as measured by Trackman data on the Webcast. His blast went high over the centerfield scoreboard at Empire Ballpark in Perth W.A. It was a thing of beauty! Watch below.

The 20 year-old, left-handed power hitter is now tied for the lead in the Australian Baseball League with 5 homers and is second in RBIs with 15 in the 17 games played so far.

It was a tough doubleheader for other Phillies prospects as the Giants lost both games and were outscored 26-12 combined in the seven inning games.

It was even worst for the Phillies pitching prospects as both starters Taylor Lehman and Tyler Burch were done after the first inning each giving up four runs. Burch got only one out before he left.  He was struck in the foot on a hard comebacker to the mound and had to be removed after a couple of batters later.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here: https://baseballross.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/how-i-got-started-in-baseball/
