The Phillies Minor League Season starts on Tuesday. We will be there for the opening day for Clearwater Threshers in the new low A Southeast League.
We are excited by the talent we are likely to see play for the Threshers at the start of the season. One of the players we hope to see is Johan Rojas. He and catcher Logan O’Hoppe, who likely will play at High A Jersey Shore, were selected for the Phillies minor league spring training awards, the Larry Rojas Award for the top international player and the Bill Giles Award for the top domestic player.
Phillies Manager Joe Girardi said that Rojas has the potential to be a Gold Glove winner and O’Hoppe has the chance to be a really good hitter and a front line catcher in an interview with Matt Breem of the Inquirer. Read HERE.
Both Rojas and O’Hoppe stood out in the Major league spring training camp as well. Rojas made a great catch in center one game and O’Hoppe homered against the Yankees. See Below:
