Are you as tired as we are of watching the non-production from third base in the Phillies lineup? We have an idea. How about signing Todd Frazier? He got it done for Team USA over the weekend. He can do the same at third base for the Phillies. They need urgent help there right now!
Are you as tired as we are of watching the non-production off the Phillies bench as we are?. We have another idea. How about promoting a minor league right handed bat who can play all the positions, hit a ball out of the park and steal a base named Luke Williams. In the Olympic qualifying tournament he played left field and made an over the shoulder, circus catch in left field in one game.
Frazier and Williams led Team USA over the weekend to a berth in the upcoming Summer Olympics baseball event starting in late July in Tokyo, Japan. On the other hand, the Phillies need help right now!
Frazier went 4 for 4 with a double and a home run leading to the 4-2 win over Venezuela to qualify the USA for the Olympics. He hit .400 in the qualifier tournament.
Williams went 8 for 18 (.444 batting average) with a homer, triple and double over the four games. He singled in front of the Frazier double to score the third run which turned out to be the game winner in Sunday’s clinching game. Read HERE about Team USA clinching an Olympic berth yesterday.
