We know that Clearwater Threshers swing infielder Kendall Simmons started slowly after joining the team on June 3rd. He is a streaky hitter. He has not hit a one base hit over his last eight games but he has hit four doubles, a triple and three home runs in his last 28 at bats. Back with in the NY-Penn League in 2019, he hit ten homers in a 22 game stretch.
In Friday’s doubleheader sweep, Simmons hit a homer run in each game including a two-run round-tripper in the night cap that put the Threshers ahead for good in the 4-2 win.
With his current hot streak, Simmons finally went over .200 last night for the season. He started very slowly going 3 for 40 after joining the Threshers the first week of June.
Simmons has been hot at the plate hitting .286 in his current eight game hot streak but he has not hit a single since June 20th. On the other hand he has hit three homers in his last seven games.
