Bryson Stott and Vito Friscia Are Battling it Out for Phillies Minor League Hitter of the Month

They were both selected by the Phillies in the 2019 Amateur Draft. The difference is Bryson Stott was the Phillies No. 1 pick (14th overall) and Vito Friscia was selected in the 40th and last round (1,200 overall). Now they are putting up very similar numbers in August, Stott at AA Reading and Frisica at High A Jersey Shore.

Stott is the everyday shortstop for the Fightin Phils while Friscia has served as a first baseman, DH and catcher for the BlueClaws this season.

In 16 games so far in the month, Stott is hitting .365 (23 for 63) with four doubles, a triple three home runs and ten RBIs. His OPS for the month is 1.000. In 15 games this month, Friscia is hitting .348 (16 for 46) with four doubles, three home runs and ten RBIs. His OPS is 1.059 for the month.

Can’t be much closer than that!

Last night the Phillies farm teams all lost but Stott and Frisica still produced. Stott went two for three with two walks and a RBI. Friscia went two for two with two walks including a double and home run plus three runs scored. His home run went over the .400 ft sign in center.

We will be closely following the final nine game days of August to see who will win the prestigious Phillis Minor League Hitter of the Month. Bryson Stott and Vito Frisica are our best picks right now.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show.
