The AA Phillies Looked Strong on the Infield Corners as Third baseman Jake Scheiner Goes Deep Twice and First Baseman Darick Hall Once in the Phillies AA Team’s 7-2 Win Over The Blue Jays

At the major league level, the Phillies hit three homers to down the Atlanta  Braves in the home opener, 10-4, at Citizen Bank Park on Thursday afternoon. Back at the AA level in a minor league spring training game on Ashburn Field at about the same time, the Phillies also hit three homers. Two homers were hit by third baseman Jake Scheiner and one more long ball by first baseman Darick Hall. They defeated the Toronto Blue Jays AA team by a 7-2 score.

Scheiner drove-in three runs with a solo and  two-run homers. Watch his second home run HERE which scored Cornelius Randolph who had doubled. Watch Randolph’s double HERE.

Hall hit a two-run homer and a single up the middle for three RBIs on the day as well.  Watch HERE. Catcher Edgar Cabral knocked in the other run on his second of two doubles in the game. Watch his RBI double, HERE.

Darick Hall

Hall continued hit spring training hot streak. In his previous two games in his last four at bats, he homered, hit two singles and doubled. In Thursday’s game, he hit a two-run homer and singled to go 6 for 6 before bouncing out to second in his final at bat. Still it appears Hall will return to AA Reading to start the season.

Starter Ramon Rosso pitched five strong innings, watch several of his strikeouts HERE.  In the set up role, Kyle Dohy, watch HERE and Luke Leftwich, in the closer role, were both impressive in relief.

Minor league spring training games winds up on Friday. We will be watching the Phillies A ball teams at the Carpenter Complex. Saturday, the Phillies minor league teams break camp with Lehigh Valley, Reading and Lakewood heading north to start the season.

About Baseball Ross

I have been a faithful Phillies follower all my life. Today I am most intrigued by those players in the minor league system who work every day of the year to make it to the Show. This is what this blog is mostly all about. To read more, click here: https://baseballross.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/how-i-got-started-in-baseball/

Though it does appear as you mention Hall will return to Reading ….it could be short-lived if he keeps the bat going like he is doing lately. He could be in LHV by Memorial Day.
Phillies may have to start to play him in LF at times also to give him some flexibility.
